Conversation with Grey Wolf is a dialog between seeker and mentor, illustrated with 25 black and white photographs. The mood is tranquil, yet restive. There is a calmness to the rhythm, a tension to the words.
The black and white images were taken over a period of years at different locations within the Adirondack, Berkshire and Great Smoky Mountains. The original silver gelatin prints were scanned to digital, then edited to compliment the text.
The soft wrap around sculpted cover and end pages are handcrafted by the artist from cotton, linen, abaca and 'blue' iris fiber. The front cover also contains imbedded natural woodland ephemera. Each cover is unique; no two are alike.
Conversation with Grey Wolf has been shown in exhibit at Cuesta College (2011), Asheville Bookworks (2012) and Arts on Elston Gallery (2016).
A limited quantity is available for sale to individual collectors directly from the artist. The books are numbered and signed by the artist on the colophon. 56 pages, 25 photographs. Price is $100.
