These images feature a variety of flowers taken over a period of several years. They are shot with a wide open normal or macro lens in natural light, most with a shallow depth of field. I find the structure of flowers fascinating. By looking in close, the boquet is forgotten, the structure and texture of the individual blossom remembered. Like snowflakes, no two are the same. They come alive with subtle nuance. If done in color, I fear they would be merely pretty, the shapes and shadows lost forever.
