Old Augusta This series of images was taken in and around Augusta, Maine in July of 2005. Like many small cities in the northeast, the signs of age and wear become more apparent as people desert the city for the suburbs. Leaving neighborhoods for strip malls and housing tracts results in a vacuum, of empty streets and storefronts, as the community fabric changes. Perhaps all that remains is a glimpse of what once was. All images are taken with available light with a 35 mm SLR hand-held camera. |
