Black & White Photography

Verde Valley School

This series of digital images was taken at the Verde Valley School while in residence at the Sedona Summer Colony in July of 2016. The residency brought together a variety of artists, musicians, writers, performers and cultural managers from around the world to 'simply be creative'. The mix of artistic media, the world famous Sedona red rock vistas, and a community of 'creatives' was designed to encourage the sharing of ideas and celebrate artistic expression, in whatever guise a resident chose. It was an enlightening experience, from photographing the magnificent rock formations in all their colorful splendor to focusing on the mundane and increasingly abstract, rendered in black and white. These images are the result of that creative journey and are currently displayed on campus.
